Treasure Vault

Lying deep within your heart are values, beliefs, memories and stories. Over the years you probably have shared your sentiments in conversation. But words are easily forgotten.

A Lasting Letter, also called a Legacy Letter and Ethical Will, preserves your words for loved ones and future generations.

You can compose one letter for loved ones, or individual letters for each person. The letter can be shared at any time or given to your loved one after your passing.

How it works:

  • Before your initial meeting, Molly will mail you a list of questions to spur thoughts and memories;
  • During the meeting, held either at your home, Molly’s office or other agreed upon location, Molly will interview you for up to 90 minutes;
  • Molly will mail or email you a draft copy of the letter to review and make changes;
  • Upon approval, Molly will mail you one copy of your final letter, written on archival paper. An electronic version will also be emailed to you.

Cost: $300

Additional interviews: $50 per hour

If you have a more complex or lengthy story that you believe cannot be told in a letter, obituary or statement, consider this option. Molly will custom design an approach and written document that will best capture and preserve your life story.

Molly traveled to Tennessee with Susan Cenkus , whose daughter was attacked and killed by a bear, to recount the Clyde mother's  inspiring story of healing.

Your spiritual journey may have begun when you were a child. Over the years, many experiences and people have enriched that journey and maybe changed its course, in subtle and profound ways. Some of those people could be well-known authors and spiritual leaders, or family members and neighbors.

Or maybe you have lived your life following specific principles and beliefs. You might never have called it “your mission statement,” but that’s what it is.

Your loved ones, including future generations, can learn so much from your personal statement.

No matter your age or health, you probably have thought about or imagined your memorial service. Maybe you have taken the time to pre-plan your funeral and write down your preference for music, flowers or readings.

Why not prepare your own obituary? This allows you to pass along the memories and stories you most value. A prepared obituary also ensures an accurate account of your life.
